YeuYeu lays dying on a floor

This shocking story is a tale of what we may become if we do not ask uncomfortable questions about the nature of society and our role in it as individuals.

Clearly it is wrong to ‘walk on by’ and not help a fellow human being left dying in the street, but, we do this every day of the week.

This CCTV is causing great debate in China. It should cause a great debate about all our societies. We have enough money and technology to make it impossible for such crass and unforgivable reaction to take place.

I have faith in the goodness of human beings to resolve a new world where people will have to be a Good Samaritan’!

Food crisis in the Horn of Africa

Food crisis in the Horn of Africa

Food crisis in the Horn of Africa

The last crop in this region of Djibouti was an almost total write-off, and the next harvest is not expected until mid-March at the earliest, assuming the drought abates.

Soaring food prices and a crippling drought are currently jeopardizing the lives of 20 million people in the Horn of Africa. Many of the affected people are already living on the margins of survival due to conflict, displacement and chronic poverty.

Drought is also not a new phenomenon to the region. However, this time external factors like the price of food and fuel on the international markets and the significant fluctuations in the dollar exchange rates threaten to push millions over the edge. This may potentially develop into famine not seen on such a scale for many years. To help the affected people survive, the International Federation seeks to address both short-term and long term needs by supplying both emergency aid and targeted recovery assistance.

The scenario in which a scientist has created new life form, which never or could ever have existed is both scary and frightening.

Craig Venter – a man with a mission to destroy human life – has put synthetic genome into a empty cell then get the new cell to replicate. Things that replicate is the definition of life. Therefore this mad scientist has just done that. He has become a god!

Playing god must be great for your ego but it does have implications for future life. Anyone who has a passing interest in history will have gathered that military power is usually the first practical task for scientific knowledge. Therefore before long, probably in my lifetime, we will have human life destroyed by biological weapons developed from synthetic life forms.

Not wanting to beat about the bush, but this guy who has done this may have had his tummy tickled by being the man to create synthetic life form, but he has walked the first step to being the father of all human genocide. Well done that man and never let it be known that pride becomes before a fall.

Craig Venter

Craig Venter

Some people like to play god, some people act like gods and some people are gods, such as this crackpot of an individual. But having the power of life and death does bring its own responsibility. Its called humanity. I truly cannot believe that Craig Venter can be so proud of himself?

We know there are megalomaniacs out there who will want this technology for nothing more than power. There will be more megalomaniacs to be born. Once they can create new life forms they will want it to be their very own life form. A life form which they will approve of and a life form which will be ‘perfect’.

Get rid of the mess that is on Earth at the moment and hey presto, paradise!

I have always believed that science should never be prescribed. But, I have now come to the opinion after reading this story that I may have to re-think my belief. Very scary, very very scary indeed. Lackadaisical, laissez-faire approach to this business/technology/holocaust will not do! it cannot be allowed to happen and propagated. This is pure evil and will not benefit society because those with the urge to control life and humanity will use it for their advantage and their advantage alone. BEWARE!

There are many organisations which are helping these unfortunate people so please try and help out.

The music was chosen because the singer – Teddy Pendergrass died on the 13th January 2010 and this song which he made when he was in the band Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes personally captured my feelings of helplessness, but empathy, when I saw these images on TV.

I hope these images, lyrics and music will help inspire others to do something positive as well.
